Happy New Year!
And congratulations on your new camera!

It looks like a good one judging from these beautiful pictures. I am sure you will have enough time to master its macro set up by the time dragonflies emerge in a few months.

Is that patches at the top?

Hi Shellmo...I'm enjoying my new camera so far, I just have to learn how to use it in manual modes. Thanks for the visit and comments...Happy New Year!!

Amila...Welcome back and Happy Belated Birthday!! The Nikon is 10.1 megapixels and 18x optical zoom...love that feature! I'll need a few months to practice!! The top photo is Sugar..she is Patches' daughter! Good guess! Thanks for stopping in!

Jan...Hello...Am I spooky? That would depend on who you talk to!! Spooky was a nickname given to me...when I attempted to use just Spooky as my screen name, it was already taken. Every screen name I attempted was already taken. Someone suggested I try my current screen name..and as no surprise, it was available. Thanks for the comments and dropping in, I hope you have a wonderful New Year, too!

Happy New Year!
Your photos are gorgeous. I had an older Coolpix, and I loved it. Happy photo hunting!

Congratulations on the new camera. The pictures look great. Your kitty is so cute. Can I lend you a few? There are about 10 feral ones running around here :)

Hi Richard...Thanks, Happy New Year to you as well! I need to practice, practice, practice with this camera. I'm not very steady when I shoot, I ordered a tripod which should help, especially in dragonfly season. This Nikon is much more sensitive to camera shake it seems. Love your comical captioned pix! Thanks for popping in!

Hello Vicki...I'm getting the hang of this camera(slowly), but I do enjoy the higher megapixels and the zoom. It's a little heavier than my Kodak...hmmm?...maybe that's why I'm experiencing more camera shake?! Thanks for the visit and a Happy New Year to you and yours!!

Hi Lona...Two words...No, thanks!! Remember, I have five indoor cats(as a result of feeding and providing shelter for two strays)and five outdoor cats. Two of which are the original strays, two of their litter, and the father of the litters! I also have two other strays that try to mooch in on the food out there, too! Yes...I am crazy! Thanks for the visit and a Happy New Year to you and your family!!

A Happy New Year.

思わず感嘆の声を発しました。実に素晴らしい作品です。特に二番目の写真を私は好みます。これらの作品には芸術家の優れた感性が散見されます。
合掌。

I uttered a voice of the admiration unintentionally. It is a really splendid work. I like in particular the second photograph. The superior sensitivity of the artist appears in these works.

Hello Patsi...Thank you, my Kodak Easyshare took some real nice shots...the main reason that I wanted a new camera is to have a more precise capture of my dragons for I.D. purpose. Let's hope I somewhat master this Nikon by then! Thanks for stopping in and Happy New Year, too!

Hello Pseudothemis...Thank you so much for the nice comments! The second photo is my favorite as well! On that day, half of the pond was still ice and the rest no ice. Temperatures have been up and down so much lately. There were strong winds and the effects on the water were mesmerizing. It's those little things that I love best. I do not alter colors, what you see is exactly how it appeared on that day. The pond is like a changing canvas. Happy New wishes to you, too!

Happy New Year to you and your sweet kitty too. I don't know how your photograpy can possibly get any better, but I hope your new camera lives up to its cool pix name and give you lots of them in 09!

Hi JGH....Thanks for the nice comments(I will take them and run!), but I know I have much room for improvement and it boils down to practicing with settings. That is something I'm not to keen on! I hope you have the best New Year yet!!

Hello Salty...Thank you for the comments and the visit. You just can't beat the reflective sky on the pond...everchanging. I have repaid a visit to your blog, I'm impressed. Love that latest in flight capture! We are almost neighbors.

Thomas...Hello and welcome back from your trip! As soon as I saw that you left me a comment, I rushed over to your blog even before publishing your comment! Outstanding photos from your trip...how exciting that must've been. I envy your lifestyle, I admit.

Thanks for dropping in and the comments...the second photo capturing the texture of the water is my favorite, also. By the way, I received your second comment and a most Happy New Year to you and yours as well!
