Sunita...My husband and I built the fireplace out of rocks found from all around the woods. I wanted a mousehole in the fireplace for a touch of whimsey, it's located just above the hearth. I had a tiny wreath above the "doorway", but the cats found it to be a toy this year! Thanks for the visit and Merry Christmas!

What beautiful Christmas pictures. How do you keep kitty out of the tree? The mouse is so cute!
Merry Christmas to you and yours on the pond.

MyMaracas...Thank you, yes, I like my mice, too. It looks even neat with the light off. I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas, too!

spookydragonfly said...

Richard...Most people try and get rid of mice. Since we've had all of these cats in and out of the cabin, I don't see them anymore. What's next...a permanent spider web?! Nah! Thanks for dropping in and Merry Christmas to you, too!!

spookydragonfly said...

Lona...Thank you, so far we've been lucky that none of our five cats haven't attempted to climb the tree! The two dogs haven't knocked it down either. Merry Christmas to you and your family, too! (five ornaments broke by the cats, though!)

Pseudothemis...Thank you...I am looking forward to seeing my family more this season. My adult children and grandchildren came out to the cabin this past weekend, along with my mother. It was nice. We will travel three counties north to be with family on Christmas day. I wish you blessings and peace as well!!

I love all of these photos! I'm wondering what kind of camera you are using...I love the softness of the indoor shots. Merry Christmas to you and yours! Maria

spookydragonfly said...

Maria...These photos were taken with my Kodak Easyshare(only a 6.1megapixel). The softness came from my soft effects on my picassa program. Thanks for visiting and the comments! Hope you had a great Christmas day!

I hope you’re having a very Merry Christmas! I see you’re in Carroll County. I’ve been over that way to have lunch at the Bluebird Farm Restaurant. It was a wonderful day out, and a good meal too! Have you ever been there? We also stopped at a Welsh gift shop called the Welsh Horn, in Carrolton. I’m not sure if it’s still open, but as I’m an occasional visitor to Wales, it held a lot of interest for me. I'm enjoying your Christmas pictures very much. Did you use any special effects on them? You really captured the warmth and magic of Christmas beautifully with them! For some reason, comments on my blog are all "anonymous" meaning I can't reply to them via email. But in any case, I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy 2009!

spookydragonfly said...

Seeing Anew...I know of the Bluebird Farm Restaurant and the Welsh Horn, yet I haven't been to either one of them. I have heard the Bluebird Farm is a popular destination, though. As far as special effects in this post... yes, I did use the soft effects(picassa) to give the photos a somewhat dreamy look. My Christmas was wonderful, spent with family. I hope you had a Merry Christmas, too! Thanks for dropping by!

Good evening. I have encountered a traffic accident in the afternoon of 24th in December. A car clashed with each other beside my bicycle suddenly. I have hurt a neck. I do a plaster cast to a neck now. The favorite cycling is postponement.

spookydragonfly said...

Pseudothemis...I'm so sorry to hear of your accident! I wasn't sure if you would want this comment published, but after some thought, I decided to go ahead. I know that some of my guests visit your blog, maybe a few may want to send you well wishes. I will pop over to visit you.

I just got in to your blog! I don't know why I couldn't before--but, this is the cutest post! Your photos are so cheery and it's hard to have 'no' creatures stirring, isn't it?! Especially kitties...they always like to be getting in to mischief:) Hope your holiday was special! Jan

spookydragonfly said...

Jan...Hello, thanks for stopping by! In our cabin at night, the cats are in full force! Pictured is DeNiro having a swat at the ornament, but so have Scarlett, Sugar, Isabelle and Licorice all had their share at tormenting the tree! Surprisingly, I believe only five ornaments suffered. My holiday was wonderful, I hope your Christmas was, too!

Oh, and uh...Sultan nor Apache(the dogs)did any damage to the tree!

Your Christmas pictures are full of wonder and delight! I LOVED your kittys! My two elderly cat friends passed away last Spring and I do miss them so. They were a part of our life for 19 years! But our sweet Buckeroo has filled the void and brought us so much happiness.
I always appreciate your visits and kind words left at the cabin and want to wish you a wonderful Christmas week and very Happy New Year!
Blessings to you!

Claudia...Hello and thanks for stopping by! I enjoy our cats as well, they are always a source of entertainment it seems. I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved pets.

I hope you had the Christmas that you wished for...and a Happy New Year to you and yours!

spookydragonfly said...

Pseudothemis..Thank you, I appreciate your kind thoughts and words! It was a pleasure meeting you this year, too. Few people enjoy the damselflies and dragonflies as you and I do! I wish happiness and good health to you and your family as well. Happy New Year!
