MAGIC TO ?????...

These are NOT created photos...they were taken Friday evening, November 14th., as the moon was rising over the woods. If you haven't already seen my last post, you may want to check it out. I have photos of the moonscape from Thursday, November 13th that I posted.
These photos on this Friday evening were taken at approximately the same time. I was waiting for my daughter and her friend to arrive for the weekend when I decided to go out and view the moon.
All of the captures were taken within a 10-15 minute time frame.
Posted by PicasaAs I was snapping this one, I didn't see the white orb(or whatever it may be)in the upper center of the photo. When I viewed it in the computer is when I noticed that. The clouds formed a pathway to the heavens...it was stunning. I wish all of you could have been there because, once again, my photographs just don't do justice to what the views were in person.

Lovely sequence, spookydragonfly.
I can see a human face in the first one!

Gallicissa...Thank you, my favorite is still the moon with the large aura surrounding it on my previous post. The clouds among the moon can sure create some haunting images as seen here. I took so many photos in both automatic and night landscape modes, to be quite honest, I'm not sure which these photos are from. The quality seemed grainy on all, not sure if it is due to air quality or if I just need a new battery. Thursday evening was most magical with the aura and cloud formations lasting only about five minutes.

Grainy quality or 'camera noise' is probably resulted by the camera capturing them at a higher shutter speed in automatic and night landscape modes. A software named Noiseware professional is there to correct this. You can download a trial version and test it to see. In the trial version, it creates a grin over your image so you would not be able to use that image for anything useful -- but it will give a good idea as to what you can do with that software.

Yes, I enjoyed all you moon photography.

Gallicissa..Thanks for the advise. I'll see if my son will check into that for me whenever he makes the trip down here again.
I have taken photos of the moon in the past with great results, that's why I thought possibly I needed to purchase a new battery. A few people have told me that eventually the rechargeables need replaced.

I have been checking around on the Panasonic camera that you suggested..it's not that easy to find. I have some time, hoping for a new camera near spring?!

Those are definitely magical with the face, how captivating! Last night when I was driving I could just make out what looked like eyes & a mouth on the moon. It was so large & bright!

Hi Racquel...Thank you, and I'm afraid I would have had a hard time keeping my eye on the road with this view!

I meant to say that the "...trial creates a grid of squares over your image..." Apologies!

Here's the URLL:

Why don't you consider to go for a dSLR + a decent lens?

How amazing is that!I am so glad you caught these pictures, It does look like a face :D The one with the white orb is a head scratcher.Wonder if it was the moon reflecting of off another cloud somewhere? Great shots again and like you I like the first ones.

The magic in the skies...
Your pictures take me to a dream world. A place where there is wonder and peace.
Thanks Kim.

Gallicissa...I did some research today on the p&s cameras versus the dSLR cameras. I honestly feel that the dSLR cameras would more than likely overwhelm me. I should just stop whining about my photos, huh?!

Hi Lona...Thank you, and my guess is the "orb" is a reflection in some way, too. The "pathway" were indeed clouds in that formation.

Hello Patsi...Thank you for the nice comments. Full moon evenings are the best!

Oops! I meant to say "...camera capturing them at a higher film speed (ISO) in automatic and night landscape modes..."

mea culpa!

Gallicissa...That's o.k...I can't complain...I'm getting free photography mini-lessons here! I just have to accept my photos aren't professional!! (I'll keep the free lessons, though!)

Hello Joey...Thanks for stopping by and the comments. I doubt I'll see magical moments such as in these photos on this post, again. I wish you could've been living nearby, too, because I would've been on the phone calling you to go outside, or better yet...come over!

Hi Vicki...Thank you for the nice comments. It was an amazing view that night, I've never seen a cloud formation so pronounced as that evening. I can't wait until our next full moon Dec. 12th!
