One night...without regard to where I wandered... the darkness, the moon glow and the woods as one surrounded me. I felt as if I was being drawn in. To where? I wondered. Such an eerie, yet so comfortable feeling to be engulfed in. The night air was cool, thick with mist and fog... unusual for a winter evening. I felt as if I were being held, comforted. What a wonderous feeling... one with nature.

Great sequence, Kim!
I experienced 3°C temps in the highlands on my recent tour and it was very very cold to me. Yet our quest for one single bird kept us going...
Lovely as always! I can just imagine you wandering through the darkness.
Mysterious...sad in a way.
Beautiful shots.
What beautiful, atmospheric photos - they are gorgeous and so serene. And when combined with your prose, I almost felt that I was there with you walking through the trees.
Thank you!
Hi Spooky,
What great looking, eerie, "spooky" shots:)
Glad your comments link is back on.
Beautiful photos, Kim! And I'm so glad you brought the Comments tab back :)
By the way, what time was these photos taken? It does look eerie but not in a spooky way. Its more of a magical atmosphere.
Lovely...
thank you for taking me with you on your moon walk in the woods...
I bow to the moon,
Sherry
What a gorgeous looking moon. I love how there are no edges - just a gradual glow fading into the sky.
Beautiful series. The lighting is indeed enchanting and captivating. No wonder you were drawn to it.
Just gorgeous! The shot with the moon through the trees is my favorite.
Hello Amila...Thank you, and good luck on your current tour!
p.s....regarding the e-mail..thanks for the kind encouragement.
Hi Mo...Thank you, it was an unusual evening, but so serene!
Hello Patsi...Trust me, it wasn't a sad feeling. I'm most comfortable when alone with nature it seems. It's kind of a healing experience for me. Sometimes it's just nice to escape everyday dealings and go to a "kinder, gentler" place. That may sound strange to some, I know, but that's me!
Hi Nutty Gnome...I know I've probably said this before, but I love your screen name. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos, more importantly, I'm glad that you could almost feel as if you were there with me!
Hi Flydragon...Thanks, I just thought I'd give my guests a break on the comments. My photos have been fairly repetitive lately. Quite a few people contacted me about the comments, so I turned them back on. Hey, Congrats again on that award...your posts do make me laugh!
Hello Sunita.. If you could read my comment to Flydragon, it explains why I turned my comments off. Let's see, this was the last full moon, I believe on the 9th of this month. You're really testing my memory! These were taken probably somewhere between 7:oo - 8:oo p.m. in the evening. The mist and the fog really created a soft touch to the night. I used the tripod and my night mode setting.
Hello Q...Thank you, the moon certainly has its' own power. I always look forward to the full moon in particular!
Hi JGH...That fading look with the soft edges that you enjoy...imagine that look around all the woods' silhouettes. It was just beautiful!
Hello Thomas...Thank you, the misted atmosphere created a soft, yet overall dramatic feel. Just a very different type of winter evening...it was great to experience it!
Hi Lona...Thanks, I honestly can't pick a favorite here. I wonder if you had the same type of evening as well? We are practically neighbors!
beautiful - magical - you set the perfect scene!!
Amazing images, as if taken from an old film. Romantic and a little spooky at the same time. It all goes well with dragonflies whizzing around as well, I gather. Have a great day...and more eerie moon nights.
Your Photos a just beautiful. Add so poetry to your pictures and heaven would sing. Lovely.
love-bd
Hello Shellmo...It was a perfect night!
Hi Camellia...That's exactly how the evening felt, as if it was the perfect setting coming alive out of the pages of a novel!
Hello Beloved Dreamer...Thank you for visiting my woods and following as well! Moonlit nights always take me to a calmer place. I wish there were more of them such as this one.
Your photography is amazing! I am in Ohio as well... looking forward to spring just as i know you are.
Warm Wishes from my frozen garden.
Hello Bren....Thank you, I walked out yesterday morning and it felt like spring...even smelled like spring! But, as you know our Ohio weather, we're wxpecting the cold again Saturday. It's not so hard now, knowing that spring is around the corner. Thanks for visiting and I'm off to visit your blog!
Good evening.
There is the poetry that wrote down a wave and the moon of the ocean in a Russian poet, the poetry of Фёдор Иванович Тютчев in the 19th century. I had a look at your photograph and remembered it. The following sentences are Japanese translated sentences of Izutsu Toshihiko.
Hello Pseudothemis...I would imagine the Russian poet that you speak of has wrote a wonderful poem. I remember when I was younger standing on the edge of the ocean... looking up at wonder upon a full moon. The moonbeams riding across the waves...happy memories. I would love to read the poem that you speak of in english. Not much longer until dragon season, my friend!
フョードル・イワノビッチ・チュッチェフ(Фёдор Иванович Тютчев、Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev )の詩は、英語にも翻訳されていると思います。
合掌。
I think that his poetry is translated into English.
Oh how I love the moon, Kim ... you've captured some stunning shots. Happy March, dear friend!
Hello Pseudothemis...Thank you, I will attempt to look him up!
Hi Joey...Thank you! Nothing compares to a full moon. Happy March to you as well!
These images as well as your words touch something deep in my heart. Wonderful~
Hello Tammie Lee...Thank you, I'm so glad that you understand what I felt that evening. Any full moon night has a special feeling to it, but this one in particular had that mysterious feeling!
such beautiful pictures! I know exactly what you mean to feel as if you are one with nature. I often feel this way when I venture out early in the morning, before the sun awakens. And please do send some snow my way.
What a wonderful post! The photos and the text are so lovely, so dreamy and serene. There's nothing like moonlight to ignite the imagination.
Hi Machelle...There is no other feeling quite like it, is there?! Just after I commented on your blog, it started snowing here again! Now the forecast for my area is upper 50's/60's by weeks' end. Now, THAT'S what I'm hoping for!
Hello Vicki...I agree! Every moonlit night has its' own unique feel to it as well. Can't wait for the nexr full moon.
wow! amazing photos! And what an amazing story-creating your dream space in the woods.
awesome!
Hi Brandi...Thank you, and yes, I think it's pretty awesome here! It's a good feeling that we did it all on our own, just as families did it generations ago. I'm so glad that spring is almost here, so I can enjoy the woods more!
Your photographs convey the magic you sensed. Thanks for avoiding the cliche of fairies. Moonlit gardens are magical enough without imaginary creatures. The sense of being surrounded by the peaceful night light speaks for itself.
Your photos exhibit a sense of peace. Perhaps this is what was calling you?
Hello Bernie...Yes, a sense of peace and calm describes the feeling perfectly. As I mentioned, I felt comforted. I felt a connection with all around me. I savour those moments.
Hello Weeping...I understand what you're saying... with the atmosphere being as it was, along with the misted full moon...there was enough "magic" to keep me in suspense. I honestly don't remember another winter evening with so much fog and mist in the air. Now...an appearance of a fairy WOULD have topped the moment!
Hi Kim, beautiful photos, and beautiful expression of what you felt. Doesn't sound strange at all.
Hi Linda...Thank you, sometimes I wonder about myself! After reading some of my other comments and yours as well, it's nice to know that others have felt that strong of a connection with nature as well.
Hi there, I was wondering if you had a pause, perhaps waiting for spring :-) You left a lovely comment on my most recent post, I clicked to publish it and the page couldn't reload, and now your comment is gone (probably floating in cyber space somewhere) – but not forgotten! Thanks and have a great day.
Hi Camellia...Thank you so much for your comment. I'm having so many problems on the computer lately, especially with blogging. I made several attempts to leave a comment on your blog, I thought I finally succeeded. I guess not! If you could refer to my newest post, I've added an explanation to my guests. Thanks for the info, sorry I can't visit as often as I like lately.
